Merlin Awarded ISO14001 Certification

Merlin is proud to be awarded an ISO14001 certification, in recognition of the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
Under the direction of Chief Technical Officer Kevin Wood, Merlin’s ‘Green Team’ has undertaken extensive research in order to evaluate, manage and implement a formal Environmental Management System (EMS) in order to achieve IS01 4001 certification.
As well as addressing its own internal processes such as paper usage reduction, recycling, waste outputs and energy consumption, Merlin has been working closely with its contractor network to help raise awareness and educate them as to ways of reducing carbon emissions and the processes that can be put in place to support this.
This latest accreditation is supported by Merlin’s award winning training schemes, ensuring relevant legislation and compliance issues are met and sustained, whilst embedding the green scheme fully within the Merlin philosophy.
Kevin Wood, Chief Technical Officer, commented: “Businesses across the UK are all too aware of the importance of reducing their carbon footprints in line with the government’s low carbon agenda – namely to see an 80% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050. This certification is testament to Merlin’s commitment to addressing the way in which the business is managed on a day to day basis. There is however no time to sit back and relax, with always more to be done, Merlin is dedicated to implementing ongoing improvement across the business”
